Do you work with fixed prices?

Yes. The prices in our configurator are fixed prices including labor and VAT. No surprises afterwards. For repairs outside our standard list (such as smart unit or complex electronics) you get an upfront quote after diagnosis. If during the repair the actual cost would exceed the quote by more than 10%, we contact you first for approval on the additional work.

Do you provide warranty on the repair?

Yes, 6 months warranty on all repairs we perform, calculated from the invoice date. This warranty covers both the work performed and the parts we install. Refurbished, reconditioned or from our own stock: the warranty term is always 6 months. Full warranty terms are available on our warranty page.

What does the €50 diagnosis include?

We perform an error analysis and technical assessment of your VanMoof and give you honest advice, even if repair isn't worthwhile. For follow-up repairs of €180 or more the diagnosis fee is fully deducted from the invoice. For button replacement, brake pads, tires, chain, software reset, app linking, transfer and maintenance checks we charge no diagnosis fee. If you decide after diagnosis not to proceed with the repair, the diagnosis fee remains due.

How long does a repair take?

It depends on the repair and our schedule. Many standard repairs (such as e-shifter, button, or a maintenance check) we can often complete quickly, sometimes the same day. More complex jobs or parts we need to order may take longer. We always update you via WhatsApp or phone once the bike is ready.

Question 5

Do you pick up the bike or do I bring it in?

Both options work within the Randstad. You can drop your bike off at our workshop on TT Vasumweg in Amsterdam, or we'll come to you for mobile service. Within the Randstad we charge no travel fees. Not all repairs are suitable for mobile service: for repairs requiring specific tools or a controlled environment, you'll need to visit the workshop. We clearly indicate beforehand what can be done on-site.

What kind of parts do you use?

VanMoof S3 and X3 are no longer in production. The parts we install are refurbished, reconditioned or from our own stock. The 6-month warranty term applies to all parts, regardless of origin. We transparently tell you upfront which part we'll use.

Question 7

Are you an official VanMoof partner?

Accepted Answer

No. We are an independent specialist. VanMoof as a company no longer exists in its old form and official service has ended. We fill that gap with years of experience in 500+ repairs of S3 and X3 models, without depending on the VanMoof brand.

Question 8

My battery no longer works, can it be repaired?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. Errors 6, 18, 19, 20 and 21 are the most common battery faults and we can repair them in many cases for €300 (fixed price, incl. VAT). Note: we cannot warranty the total remaining battery capacity. That depends on the age and use of the cells.

What is Error 44 and what does it cost to fix?

Error 44 means the e-shifter (the electronic gear shift) no longer shifts correctly. This is one of the most common VanMoof faults. We replace the e-shifter for a fixed price of €210 incl. labor and VAT.

How and when do I pay?

Accepted Answer

For repairs you get an iDEAL payment request by WhatsApp or email after the work is completed. For purchases you receive a payment request after order confirmation, and the bike is only delivered after we receive payment. MME does not accept cash.

What does refurbished mean at MME?

Accepted Answer

Every VanMoof we sell is fully technically inspected, refurbished and made road-ready by our own specialists. You ride away on a bike that has been thoroughly checked.

Question 12

How much warranty comes with a purchased bike?

On every VanMoof we sell we provide 1 year (12 months) warranty on the entire bike, from the invoice date.

How does the margin scheme work?

Accepted Answer

Our bikes are sold under the margin scheme (margeregeling). VAT is not stated separately and is not deductible. Any accessories do include 21% VAT.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery takes 1 to 5 working days. You can also pick up the bike for free at our workshop in Amsterdam-Noord.

How do I pay for a bike?

You pay securely and directly online with iDEAL. You settle the full amount in one go.

Can I take a test ride first?

Yes, that is possible in Amsterdam-Noord. Just call us to arrange a moment.

Can I order accessories along with it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the X3 you choose a free front rack (original or large); on the S3 you can add a front basket (€99). With both you can add a rear rack (€39), incl. 21% VAT. The VanMoof powerbank is temporarily sold out; leave your email and we will let you know as soon as it is back.

Why does the price differ per bike?

The price depends on the mileage. The lower the mileage, the higher the price.

Question 19

Will the bike be transferred to my name?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We officially transfer the bike to you digitally, including the link to the VanMoof account, and you receive the invoice as proof of rightful purchase.

Which models do you sell?

We sell the VanMoof S3 (28 inch) and the X3 (24 inch, more compact), in the colors black and blue.
