Which warranty applies to you?
From 21 August 2026 repairs come with 3 months of warranty; it covers all electronic parts we install and no more than that. If your repair was invoiced earlier, you keep the term and coverage agreed at that time. Enter your invoice date to see what applies to you.
Our warranty
VanMoof S3 and X3 models are no longer in production. All parts we use are refurbished, overhauled or from our own stock. The warranty period is the same for all electronic parts: three months, regardless of origin.
Our warranty is a commercial guarantee: it stands apart from and comes on top of your statutory rights as a consumer. Statutory conformity under article 7:17 of the Dutch Civil Code continues to apply in full and is not limited by these terms; article 7:6a of the Dutch Civil Code requires us to state this here.
What the warranty covers
The warranty covers all electronic parts we install: battery, motor, smart unit, e-shifter, wiring harness, kick lock, lights and electronic controls. If a defect occurs within the warranty period that demonstrably arises from such a part, we repair or replace it free of charge, or, if that is not reasonably possible, we refund the repair amount. The warranty is limited to these electronic parts; it covers no more than that, without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer.
What the warranty does not cover
Our warranty does not apply in the following situations:
- Mechanical and non-electronic parts, such as the frame, wheels, spokes, brakes, chain and tyres.
- Work and labour as such; the warranty applies to the electronic parts installed.
- Damage caused by falls, accidents, vandalism or theft attempts.
- Damage caused by improper use, incorrect assembly, overloading or intensive commercial use (including food delivery, shared bike rental or professional deployment).
- Cosmetic damage to the frame or parts, occurring after the repair.
- Damage caused by corrosion, moisture or water ingress.
- Damage caused by deep discharge of the battery, for example because the bike has been stored unused for a longer period below a charge level of thirty percent.
- Damage caused by incorrect charging or by using a non-original charger.
- Modifications or repairs by third parties or by yourself after our repair.
- Normal wear of wear-prone parts: chain, brake pads, tyres and brake cables.
- Broken or bent spokes, which in almost all cases result from accidents or improper use.
- Insufficient maintenance or failure to follow maintenance advice.
- Indirect damage, consequential damage and non-material damage.
- Damage arising from the use of a speed-modified bike on public roads.
Warranty with speed modifications
MME never performs speed modifications itself. For bikes that have been speed-modified by third parties the following rules apply:
- Standard 25 km/h
- Full three months warranty, as described above.
- Modified to 32 km/h
- Three months warranty remains applicable, provided you sign on the work order that the bike was already modified at intake and MME did not perform this modification. After repair the bike is set back to 25 km/h.
- 37 km/h or higher
- If you do not agree to reducing the speed before the repair, any form of warranty on the installed parts lapses.
How to use the warranty
Found a defect within the warranty period? Contact us as soon as possible via info@mmedienstverlening.nl or WhatsApp +31 6 21302552. We ask you to:
- Send or show the original invoice or work order.
- Provide a short description of the defect, with a photo or video if possible.
- Offer the bike for assessment at our workshop at TT Vasumweg, or schedule a mobile appointment if you are inside the Randstad.
We assess the defect and decide on the solution together with you. If the defect is covered by the warranty we fix it free of charge. If it is not covered, you will receive a quote for repair upfront.
Our promise
At MME we believe in transparent and honest advice. Our warranty is not fine print, but part of what we promise every customer: skilled work, fixed prices and three months of warranty on all electronic parts we install.
